    Hey Daniel, there's a lot of lucky fish that day. I know I would have been putting them in the bucket. Bluegill and Sunfish are some of the best tasting fish there is. I'm sure you needed a break from all the taxidermy work you have been doing. The old saying goes.... A couple hours of fishing is about better than any other enjoyment out there. Love your channel and all your videos. Take care and be safe.

      I would be interested to know the cost of all the supplies and whether or not they were made there or imported. Much of the cost I’m able to save is by picking up supplies locally from companies who actually make the products on site. It saves me about 30% off of retail if the same was ordered, and even what I do have to order, none of it would have to be imported.

    What everyone sees here as a very easy, simple, clean process is not, in fact, any of those things. What you are watching is an extremely talented professional who has a deep and profound understanding of both their subject material (the hide), the process (the pickling) and the machine (the machine). All of that is paired with muscle memory to make it look this easy.

    • @thecedarridgechronicles
      @thecedarridgechronicles 28 днів тому

      Next time you hunt out of state, take a #11 X-acto knife, a bone saw (or reciprocating saw) and some borax and watch my video on how to cape one off the head and remove the antlers. It is extremely easy and can be done in about 20-30 minutes even if you have never done it before. Once the skull cap is cleaned and boraxed, the rack can be brought back across state lines with the cape and you can take it to your regular guy 👍

    I'm someone who suffers with chronic illness and I want to be more efficient in taxidermy. I also have arthritis and carpal tunnel in my fingers and wrists which means I can't work on things for long. I don't do large mammals like deer (yet), mainly small mammals but the tip to prep things all at once is great! I have 6 stoats to do and I'm gonna skin them all, tan and then mount, while usually I'd do one at a time. Solid tips and really enjoying your videos, you got a great personality and I'm loving the regular content!

      The great thing about the prep work is that it prevents you from having to do a lot at a time.
