Bro is not gunna have any species of sun fish there within a week
The other side to paid in full is that once you’ve paid, there’s no rush on your mounts. The taxidermist has your money…. Good for you for not being that guy!
Yessir! It pays to research who you leave your buck with. Also, there is no reason for the taxi to need to keep your antlers until it is time to mount the buck so if there is any doubt, take them with you!
Now that’s a good day of fishing!!
Wow yum
When he lay the skin inside out on the table it looked like eyor from winnie the pooh
😂
SUPER EASY STAND PACKIN!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Great review and awesome hunt! Very cool double drops! Thank you for sharing my friend!
Hey man I sent ya a message on instagram. I’d love to ask you a few questions on getting started in taxidermy
Ok just saw it.
Chase it haha
Wish you had braided line 🧐😳
It was braid, but only 60#. I would have liked some 100 to put some heat on!
😄 don't stretch it too much, poor lil bugger
awesome job I have my own pestestal to do imm going to try this technique thanks for the video
Make sure the hot glue is really hot, or you can also use gorilla glue gel. It works great too.
Can you show a remount of a deer that was originally poorly mounted?
I have an old mount I have to try and fix up a bit in a month or so. I’ll try to remember to film it. If it is a full remount, I just get a different cape and form and do a completely new mount altogether
what brand of aquarium heater are you using?
If I’m not mistaken, if you go to the description of the video and scroll down I think I copied the link to it on there 👍
That was a good day out! I really need to learn to fly fish! Looked like so much fun! Thank you for sharing my friend!
You do!
Hey Daniel, there's a lot of lucky fish that day. I know I would have been putting them in the bucket. Bluegill and Sunfish are some of the best tasting fish there is. I'm sure you needed a break from all the taxidermy work you have been doing. The old saying goes.... A couple hours of fishing is about better than any other enjoyment out there. Love your channel and all your videos. Take care and be safe.
That’s the first ones in 2 years I didn’t keep haha! If I didn’t have a freezer full already they would have come home with me
Glad to see your liking that fleshing machine!
I won’t ever be without one again! It has made a huge difference
Great video looking forward to using your technique
Thank you!
Great buck Daniel glad you got him!!!
Thank you buddy!!
Where did you buy that nose detail tool?
If you will click on the description of the video, scroll down and there is a link I posted that will take you straight to it 👍
@@thecedarridgechronicles Sorry...I just missed it the first time...thanxz
@bobsloan9930 no problem 👍
Bro thats so cheap, its over 2k here in NZ
I would be interested to know the cost of all the supplies and whether or not they were made there or imported. Much of the cost I’m able to save is by picking up supplies locally from companies who actually make the products on site. It saves me about 30% off of retail if the same was ordered, and even what I do have to order, none of it would have to be imported.
Yea good vid bro
Thank you!
Nice man! I have a friend that use to build rods. It's definitely an awesome feeling to catch a good fish that's custom made by yourself!
It really is. It’s nice to have an idea in mind of what you want then just build it for yourself
Im trying to get into taxidermy and this help thank you 🥰
Where u get the wool roving
Hobby Lobby
@@thecedarridgechronicles perfect we have one two towns over
Man I wish I could borrow you for a day or two .
Que material se usa para la escultura
It is a foam deer form and I use clay for the ears and eyes
That’s what I do and it does turn out great 👍 amazing video amigo!!!
Never thought about using wool roving and i have a ton of it already from needlefelting. Fantastic repair and how-to.
Daniel you must get yourself a pair of gloves as it is only a matter of time before you get cut! You took the precaution of wearing some protective rubber gloves but they wont help if you get tangled up with that blade. I will pray for you until I see you wearing bullet prove gloves. LOL
It’s ok. I cut myself about 500 times when I was a meat market manager. I’m used to it 😂
I started doing my initial fleshing with a powerwasher (other than face) it is a game-changer.
I have got to get me one!
Another good video, Daniel, Pretty cool ,That machine makes short work of it
Sure helps take a little of the load off!
Nice
What everyone sees here as a very easy, simple, clean process is not, in fact, any of those things. What you are watching is an extremely talented professional who has a deep and profound understanding of both their subject material (the hide), the process (the pickling) and the machine (the machine). All of that is paired with muscle memory to make it look this easy.
That was worth watching! I'm thinking about getting a fleshing machine to up my game on tanning hides! Great job and thank you for sharing my friend! Any recommendations on what kind of machine I should get?
I would get a Dakota pro 👍
@@thecedarridgechronicles Thank you!!
If your thinking about it do it I love mine it will change the game for you but get the pro my Dakota V had to have a lot of modifications before it would work the guards were really sloppy
@@williamroope7621 Thank you!!
Hey brotha hope this is not a a silly question, what’s your take on fleshing with a power washer? I see all your videos and I don’t have a fleshing tool like you and my hands cramp up from all my years of welding to try and flesh it out with a hobby knife. Just wondering your thoughts on a power washer if in fact it works or don’t.
I have never used one, but I know a ton of people who do that have no problems. I would like to try it myself, I just haven’t bought a pressure washer yet
@@thecedarridgechronicles thank you and great work!!!
W the pressure washer, you need a really quality machine, a really high psi, and a really good cutting tip. Don’t go garbage pick a 1900 or 1800 psi that kinda works. Get you a new one that’s at least 2100 pai
Epic video, what a fight to the end....FishOn!!!!
Gotta love it!!
My man...What a great how-to-video! I had to temporarily store my 3 mounts in an attic for 2 years, and mice chewed the noses of all three. Your explanations and technique helped me to restore them perfectly. Thank you, sir!!
Awesome!! Yessir!
Great video! What tanning agent do you use?
I use Pro 1 brush on tan
@@thecedarridgechronicles thank you! I’ve been using the a different brush on but have issues with fox ears slipping. I will follow your method and hopefully keep it from happening.
I just realized from your work just how shitty the work of my last mount was with using a new guy due to new laws where we cant bring bone back across FL border
Next time you hunt out of state, take a #11 X-acto knife, a bone saw (or reciprocating saw) and some borax and watch my video on how to cape one off the head and remove the antlers. It is extremely easy and can be done in about 20-30 minutes even if you have never done it before. Once the skull cap is cleaned and boraxed, the rack can be brought back across state lines with the cape and you can take it to your regular guy 👍
Welp, maybe it was a shark...
It was a big tuna. We got him to 20 feet and could see it pinwheeling, but just didn’t quite have the leader or line size to stop the drag for a fish that size. Took too long and his teeth finally rubbed through.
Hi , new subscriber from Australia. Great content 👍
Thank you! Glad to have you!
What about the teeth. Does it clean the teeth?
Yes it does
What % is the peroxide cream. 3% or 12%
I use the 40 volume which I believe is 12%
@@thecedarridgechronicles awsome mate. I can get that. 👍
Kicked his ass teach em how to fish Jordan
😂 I’m still trying to recover
Nice work!! A video suggestion I thought of for you would be a nose video. As in prepping the nose with a dremel for mounting or even using replacement noses. Great work as always!
.20 ga youth model, I have one, may need to choke it up and try as well. Thanks for sharing 👍
Patterning a Remington 870 Youth 20 Gauge ua-cam.com/video/ZfKEd2MoYsI/v-deo.html
If you decide to, I would go with the combo in this video. It’s my favorite out of mine.
Really inspirational! Especially the part about being alone and faith. I'm not Christian but I do enjoy my time alone, and feel as though I can't practice my faith when I'm constantly crowded by others. This video really made me appreciate my own time even more. Also the financial advice is really, really useful! I know I'm gonna come back to this video time and time again. You're a great speaker and I'm happy you've found your path in your faith and career!
Thank you!
I'm someone who suffers with chronic illness and I want to be more efficient in taxidermy. I also have arthritis and carpal tunnel in my fingers and wrists which means I can't work on things for long. I don't do large mammals like deer (yet), mainly small mammals but the tip to prep things all at once is great! I have 6 stoats to do and I'm gonna skin them all, tan and then mount, while usually I'd do one at a time. Solid tips and really enjoying your videos, you got a great personality and I'm loving the regular content!
Thank you!
The great thing about the prep work is that it prevents you from having to do a lot at a time. Then, once everything is ready, all you have to do is mount the deer and you can bag the head for several days to keep it from drying as you work on the detail, so once again, you can go as you need to
Super interesting being a "fly on the wall" for shop talk! Especially as I'm in the UK and taxidermy culture is pretty different here. I'm so envious of all your big game and taxidermy suppliers!
It really is amazing what all we have access to. I had someone several months ago ask if I would taxidermy their dog when it passes away. 😂
